UPDATED: Businesses close due to snow

Many businesses have closed today due to the blizzard conditions.

Halifax BH Golf Club has tweeted that the golf course will be closed for the weekend and the Cooking School at Dean Clough has also tweeted that it will be closed today.

Halifax Boys Brigade has cancelled its swimming competition and Brighouse Art Circle has postponed the opening for its exhibition at the Smith Art Gallery in Brighouse today. It has been rescheduled for next Saturday.

The Overgate Hospice charity shops are all open apart from the ones at King Cross and Todmorden.

But James Turner has sent in this picture of the business park on Holmfield Industrial Estate where they are busy attempting to clear a path into work.

And the Milk Bar in Hebden Bridge and Halifax is also open for business.

The Halifax Visitor Centre has reported that it is still open and Harrison Lord Gallery in Brighouse.
