Two resign from the town council

VOTERS could be on their way to the election box once again after two Hebden Royd Town Councillors stood down last week.

James Allison (White Lee, Independent) and Wesley Downs (West End, Labour) have left their seats and electors have the option of requesting a bye-election or letting the council fill the vacancies by co-option.

A bye-election for both seats will be held if ten electors from each of the West End and White Lee wards write to the returning officer requesting one by Wednesday, September 26. The address is; Westgate House, Westgate, Halifax, HXl lPS.
