Tree surgeon Tinx hits the heights for charity
Tinx Naylor
TREE surgeon Tinx Naylor of Hebden Bridge is used to tackling heights - but none equalled her trip to Peru where she trekked the Inca Trail for four days.
Tinx and 22 other trekkers raised £46,000 for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre at St James Hospital, Leeds. They walked for an average of nine hours a day up to 4,215 metres above sea level. “It was hard work, especially the altitude which slowed us all down considerably,” said Tinx, “but I feel a great sense of achievement and knowing that we raised so much is fantastic.”
Her father, who has received treatment twice for two different types of cancer at the hospital, has now been given a clean bill of health. Her husband George said: “She worked really hard supporting her father during his treatment and then raising the money for the charity, so I’m glad she enjoyed the adventure.” Her children, Zoe aged 10 and Zak aged seven, were both proud of their mum but missed her very much.
Tinx wants to thank to everyone for their support. Further donations can be made by visiting www.justgiving.com/Tinx-Naylor13.
