Schools close as snow hits upper Calder Valley

Heavy snow showers and blizzards over night and the forecast for more for up to 40 hours has led to some schools remaining closed on Friday.

So far, upper Calder Valley schools confirmed closed on Friday are:

Colden J & I School

Midgley School

Old Town Primary

Heptonstall J, I & N School

Luddenden Dene CE (VC) J, I & N School

Luddendenfoot Academy

Wood Bank School, Luddendenfoot

Todmorden High School say they will monitor the situation throughout the day and ask students to wear sensible footwear.

Calder High is open as normal.
