The festive spirit continued to spread throughout the upper Calder Valley at the weekend as a school, church and an art group held Christmas themed events.
The annual Christmas fair at St Mary’s Church, Todmorden, raised approximately £2,000 for church fundas.
Stallholders showcased their wares, children from Todmorden C of E School sang festive songs and Father Christmas also paid a visit.
Organisers thanked local businesses for their generous donations to the bottle stall and all the members of the community who supported and attended the event.
Karen Windle, one of the organisers, said: “It went very well and we had good support from people.”
There was a wide variety of seasonal activities - including the chance to make bunting for next year’s Tour de France - at Riverside Junior School’s winter fair.
The fair at the Hebden Bridge school was very well attended and enjoyed by parents, children and staff alike.
Headteacher Val Eggleton said it was a resounding success and praised the hard work and commitment of the parent and staff team, led by parents Rebecca Yorke and Sally Corcos.
The Christmas Open Studios at Northlight Art Studios, Hebden Bridge, proved popular, with many people taking the opportunity to view the exhibitions and pick up some presents for their loved ones.
Santa has arrived early in Todmorden - and is inviting children to come and see him.
Youngsters can visit Santa in his grotto at The White Smoke Company, formerly Enchanting Wood, on Burnley Road, from Monday to Friday (closed Tuesdays) from 3-6pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm.
The grotto is open until Christmas Eve. Admission is £5 per child and each youngster will receive a gift.

A Todmorden hotel is appealing for people to donate items to be distributed to those less fortunate than themselves this Christmas.
The Queen Hotel, on Rise Lane, has set up a giving tree where people can drop off presents and leave a message on the tree.
The gifts will then be collected and distributed on December 23.
