This year’s Wadsworth Boundary Walk was blessed with some fabulous weather, so many of the ramblers took their time to appreciate the scenic beauty it offers.
Organisers, the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge, were delighted with the excellent turnout - a record number of 254 walkers and runners of all ages took part.
It raised £1,672 raised, all of which will be distributed by the club to good causes, mainly in the Calder Valley, said a club spokesman.
There were few runners compared to the number of walkers, but seasoned fell runner Alex Whittem showed a clean pair of heels to be first back, in a time of two hours and 40 minutes. First lady back was Aileen Baldwin, who is from Elland, in four hours and 25 minutes.
Hebden Bridge Rotary Club President Brian Boocock presented certificates to Alex and Aileen.
The club were delighted to say there were no reported mis-haps on the day and there was great team work by all Rotarians involved to ensure a fun day for all of the walk’s entrrants.
