Radio star talks to Probus Club

MEMBERS of Hebden Royd Probus Club heard an amusing talk on Halifax Hospital Radio at their latest meeting.

Club president Geoffrey Greenwood welcomed 21 members for the presentation by Trevor Simpson.

Mr Simpson told the group how the idea for the station was born 30 years ago and £3000 was raised for the start up. Now, with a collection of all types of music, patients can listen to requests, interviews and live broadcasts from all the matches at The Shay, as well as shows from the Victoria Theatre, Halifax. Mr Simpson’s next project is to obtain outside broadcasting facilities.

The vote of thanks was given by Dennis Sutcliffe and the club’s next meeting starts at 10.30am on Wednesday, September 26, at the Mytholmroyd Community Centre. New members welcome.
