Police need your help in tracing man after 2012 incident

Police in Hebden Bridge are appealing for help to trace a man they want to speak to in connection with a possible assault.

He is described as white, of a skinny build, in his 40s and around 5’9” tall. He had dirty ginger dreadlocks which extended about three quarters of the way down his back. The man was wearing a dark outer jacket, black combat trousers and black walking type boots. At the time he was carrying a navy coloured shoulder bag and a biodegradable food bag full of food scraps. It is thought that he is a local man who sleeps rough in the area.

The incident officers want to speak to him about happened on Christmas Eve. A woman was walking along St George’s Street, Hebden Bridge, at approximately 10 am. As she crossed over the road towards Valley Road she noticed a man walking alongside her. She then heard shouting and then felt a blow to her right thigh.

The man then made off from the area. Anyone who knows the man or witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
