The Department of Health recommends that any patient over 65, or who suffers from certain conditions, should be immunised to help protect them against the flu virus, and these are now being offered to patients of Hebden Bridge Group Practice.
The practice is now offering flu jabs to patients aged 65 years and over and all patients aged between six months and 64 years in a clinical risk group such as diabetes, heart disease, chronic respiratory disease and asthma which requires repeated use of inhalers, chronic kidney or liver disease and chronic neurological disease such as stroke or multiple sclerosis, said a spokesman for the practice.
Dr David Burley said: “I would strongly encourage any patient who may be at risk from the effects of flu to contact the surgery and have the vaccination.”
The practice will be open specifically for flu jabs for two Saturdays, on October 19 and 26, and has a range of other appointment times available throughout October.
Any patient who would like to be vaccinated against flu this year is asked to book their appointment via the practice appointment line - 0844 477 2477 or in person at either the Hebden Bridge, Luddenden Foot or Mytholmroyd surgeries.
