A COMEDY series based in the Calder Valley had its first screening on television this week.
The Gemma Factor, filmed in Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall, has a host of a well-known names both in front and behind the camera.
The series, made on location over four weeks in July, had plenty of local talent to help it on its way.
Writer Tony Putts lives locally and producer Jo Blake has lived in Hebden Bridge for four years.
She said: "There were so many reasons why we chose the area but one of the main ones is that Hebden is absolutely stunning. So in terms of an interesting backdrop, it was ideal."
Anna Gilthorpe, a 23-year-old from Newcastle, plays the lead role of Gemma Collinge, a 20 year-old girl who wants to be famous by the time she's 21. She is into celebrity culture and reads the latest magazines every week.
Miss Gilthorpe said the whole cast fell in love with the area.
"Waking up to the scenery every morning was amazing. Everyone was so fantastic and supportive. "We had the best time of our lives."
She said she was looking forward to seeing the shown on TV and hope local residents would tune in to the series.
"I'm really excited, but also quite nervous, because its not something I've done before.
"I'm sure people will recognise plenty of places. Even the titles are filmed in Hebden Bridge."
Former Emmerdale actress Claire King and Angus Barnett who starred in the Hollywood blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean also star. The series is on Tuesdays at 10.30 pm on BBC3.
