More Magick acts head to the Trades
Simone Felice by John Huba
Tonight the Trades welcomes Steve Tilston’s daughter Molly Jones and Lee Southall of The Coral for an evening of thought-provoking and catchy music.
There’s a private party tomorrow but on Saturday the club throws open its doors to Daevid Allen and the Magick Brothers - another of Gong frontman Daevid’s off-shoot projects, featuring Allen along with Graham Clark and Mark Robson.
On Monday Simone Felice returns with The Simone Felice Group, a five-piece band featuring Simi Stone, also of The Duke & The King. Former drummer, writer and vocalist of Catskill Mountain troubadours The Felice Brothers, and the creator of folk-soul outfit The Duke & The King, Simone steps into the spotlight to begin his journey as a lone artist, bearing the fruits of a lifetime of song-writing.
Largely self-produced with help from Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), his forthcoming album was recorded in deeply resonant places, settings as haunted in their rafters as he felt in his bones: a barn near his home in the woods, an old church in London, an abandoned high school building by the Hudson River.
