Lesbian parents to discuss range of issues
HEBDEN Bridge Town Hall is to host the first national conference of the Calder Valley Lesbian Parents Group.
The conference will take place on Saturday, November 17 and organisers are busy lining up a selection of speakers for the day.
Group co-secretary Jen Dodds said: “We’re expecting more than 100 lesbian parents and lesbians who want to be parents from all over the UK.”
Themed “We Do It Our Way”, the conference will include poetry from Todmorden’s Clare Shaw and discussion sessions. The group’s aims include providing a social network for lesbian parents, and lesbians who want to become parents, while helping their youngsters to meet and play with others from similar backgrounds and develop a sense of community and identity.
