Focus - Trades comp

Here’s your chance to win a pair of tickets to see some of the biggest names in rock music - right on your doorstep!

The Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, is offering a pair of tickets to be won for each of two up-coming gigs - Dutch prog rock outfit Focus, arriving on Sunday, November 11 and former Zombies frontman Colin Blunstone, who plays on Friday, November 30.

Focus will make their Trades Club debut after achieving major hits with their tracks Sylvia and Hocus Pocus in the 1970s. Colin Blunstone’s musical history goes even further back as he was a trailblazer in the 1960s music scene, singing lead vocals on Time of the Season and She’s Not There, two huge hits for The Zombies during that decade.

The Trades has brought major names to Hebden Bridge in recent months, including Patti Smith, Scritti Politti, Julian Cope and Inspiral Carpets.

To enter, answer the following question: Which milestone anniversary did the Trades Club celebrate earlier this year? Email your answer, together with your name and a daytime contact number - and which show you’d prefer to see (Focus or Blunstone) to competitions@halifaxcourier.co.uk by noon on Thursday, October 25, putting Trades Competition in the subject bar. Usual Johnston Press rules apply.

l Don’t miss next week’s newspaper for your chance to win tickets to see Eddi Reader at Hebden Bridge Picture House next month.
