Five candidates to battle for council seats
FIVE people have put their names forward to fight for the two vacated seats on Hebden Royd Town Council.
In the West End ward of Hebden Bridge, Stephen Denis Curry is standing as an independent, Jonathan Charles Timbers is representing Labour and Craig Whittall is the Liberal Democrat candidate.
In the White Lee ward of Mytholmroyd, Robin Dixon is standing for Labour and Julia Gibson is representing the Lib Dems.
The two seats have been vacant since Canon James Allison, who was an independent councillor, and Wesley Downes, who was a Labour councillor, stood down in September.
Hebden Royd Town Council currently has 10 Labour councillors and six Lib Dem councillors.
In total, the town council has 18 councillors covering six wards.
Elections take place on Thursday, November 15.
