BLACKSHAW Environmental Action Team (BEAT) is holding its first ever public meeting next month.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, will take place from 7.45pm at Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club on Acre Lane.

Guest speaker for the event will be Geoff Tansey and the topic will be “Our food future – global vs local?”.

Mr Tansey has worked on food, agriculture and development issues for over 35 years.
