Exhibition in Lesley’s memory is a huge success
Artist Amrik Varkalis, with Alan Fowler, launches her new exhibition Lesley's Love of Blue at Hebden Bridge Town Hall.
An exhibition of 18 paintings in Hebden Bridge Town Hall in memory of Lesley Fowler, who died in August 2010, has been an overwhelming success.
On Tuesday just four of the works of artist Amrik Varkalis remained for sale, although the exhibition can still be viewed until Saturday.
More than 80 people attended Saturday’s launch of the display, called Lesley’s Love of Blue. Lesley’s husband Alan, of Old Town, spoke of his late wife’s love of the colour blue, which inspired her friend’s paintings. The event was opened by Coun David Bell, chairman of Wadsworth Parish Council.
