Enjoy a good party...but be careful
IF you’re going out partying this Christmas, enjoy yourself - but take care.
That’s the message from Calderdale Council, supported by Calderdale Community Safety Partnership, which has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the impacts of taking drugs and drinking too much.
It covers three broad themes: safe driving, personal safety and alcohol related violence.
The campaign makes the point that most drink drivers don’t plan to break the law.
To make sure you don’t become another statistic, several ways are recommended to avoid drinking and driving, including booking a taxi in advance; agreeing a designated non-drinking driver if you’re going out as a group; using public transport; and following a fun afternoon or evening at a Christmas party, arrange overnight accommodation so you don’t need to travel.
