Dario lands role in popular soap
A 15 year old Calder High School student has landed a plum role in Britain's best-loved TV soap opera, Coronation Street.
Dario Coates, who lives in Hebden Bridge, will shortly join the cast as a new character in the Street
Dario is a member of the Calderdale Theatre School and it was through their contacts that he was invited to audition for the part. He played the part of the Mad Hatter in the CTS production of Alice in Wonderland.
“I’ve always wanted to be an actor, but I never dreamed that I would get a part on TV at this stage,” he said. “It is going to be really exciting and very good experience.”
Dario will continue to study for his GCSEs – including drama – at Calder High while he is filming.
