Maria Miller, secretary for culture, media and sport visits Hebden Bridge Town Hall with Calder Valley MP Craig Whittaker and Welcome to Yorkshire to talk about the Tour de France.
Culture Secretary Maria Miller visited Hebden Bridge today to discuss the Tour de France coming to Calderdale.
She met with Calder Valley MP (Con) Craig Whittaker and Welcome To Yorkshire Chief Executive Gary Verity at Hebden Bridge Town Hall, having earlier met leaders of local arts and heritage groups to talk about the area’s plans for the event.
She said: “The meeting went incredibly well and it was fantastic to hear about the details of the route and the plans for the tour. I’ve met with representatives from the hotel, arts and heritage sectors in Calderdale and discussed how this area can get the maximum benefits from the Tour.
“It’s a beautiful part of the English countryside and I’m sure it’ll be a very challenging part of the tour for the riders.”
