Council finds another £50k for businesses

CALDERDALE Council has given flood-stricken businesses in the upper Calder Valley a further boost by making an extra £50,000 available in recovery grants.

The Council’s Cabinet agreed to release the money from its Economic Fighting Fund and the figure is in addition to the £200,000 already available through its Recovery Investment for a Stronger Economy (RISE) fund.

Cabinet Member for Economy and Environment, Coun Barry Collins, said: “The communities of Calder Valley are normally vibrant places with thriving local businesses and we are doing all we can to help them recover from the floods.”

So far 116 businesses have received funding from the Council.
