Could you lend a listening ear?

CALDERDALE Help in Bereavement Service is recruiting new volunteers - and is particularly keen to hear from people in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.

The service is starting a new training programme for volunteers this autumn and is keen to hear from anyone with time to spare who can provide a listening ear to those who have been bereaved.

Full training days are planned for October 13 and November 3 with evening sessions on October 16, 18 and 29 and November 1. All applicants will be CRB checked and anyone who is interested should contact 0845 0099220.

CHIBS is also holding a fundraising evening on Saturday September 29 at Bethesda Church, Elland, when Elland Male Voice Choir will sing a programme of light music.

The show starts at 7.30pm. The tickets, at £5, are available on the door.
