The Todmorden Bee Friendly Collective has, as one of its aims, the desire to bring natural bee keeping to the attention of everyone who is interested the plight of these fascinating creatures.
With this in mind they are holding a day in which interested pople can “meet the bees” and learn more about their habits. It is hoped that bumble bees may be included as welll as honey bees.
This will take place at New Oddfellows Hall on Oxford Street, Todmorden, on Saturday, July 13, from 10am to 5pm, and costs £20 (£10 concessions). People should bring a picnic type lunch which they might like to share with others. The morning session will be mainly given over to a film on bee behaviour and information whilst the afternoon will allow people to go and meet bees in their hives.
