A cheeky van driver tried getting one over on the police and his insurance company by swapping his number plates around, but was foiled in Stourton, Leeds.
The man placed the number plates from another vehicle on his white Ford Transit to make it look like the latter had valid insurance and an MOT certificate.
But traffic police from West Yorkshire had their suspicions and seized the vehicle when they discovered the plates and vehicle didn’t match. The Transit had no MOT or insurance.
A police spokesperson said: “Owner put number plates from his other van on this one to look like it was insured and MOT’d. Seized.”
