Charities to get share of £1,000

Charities are being invited to apply for a share of £1,000 funding to run a one-off event.

The money, from The Co-operative Group, can also be used to cover a charity’s running costs.

Groups have until Wednesday, November 21, to apply to the Co-operative Partnerships scheme. Customers, who are members, will be able to vote for their favourite charity at the Hebden Bridge Co-op store, Market Street, from Wednesday, November 28 to Monday, December 19.

Three finalists will be shortlisted by the Co-operative Group’s West Yorkshire Area Committee and the £1,000 prize will be shared across the groups proportionately based on the number of votes they receive.

Linda Gomila, Co-operative Membership Officer, said: “We are proud to launch this initiative in our Hebden Bridge store.”

For more information, or to apply, email Linda at linda.gomila@co-operative.coop or ask for a Co-operative partnerships application form at the Co-op.
