OLYMPIC Torch Bearer Chris Green will be carrying the famous flame through the upper Calder Valley on Saturday to raise money for the Flood Relief Fund.

Along with representatives from The White Ribbon Campaign, Chris will be walking from Gordon Riggs in Walsden, go along both Rochdale Road and Halifax Road in Todmorden and all the way through the Campaign’s offices in Burnley Road, Mytholmroyd.

The walk will start from the garden centre on Rochdale Road, Walsden, at 1pm and finish in Mytholmroyd at around 3.30pm.

Chris said: “We are hoping to raise the spirits of people and raise money.”

Participants will be carrying buckets and there will also be an opportunity to have a picture taken with the flame for £1 - with all proceeds going to the Flood Relief Appeal.
