Cakes helped make £440

A COFFEE and cake morning organised by Upper Calder Charities Assist (UCCA) raised £440 for the Calder Valley Flood Fund.

The event was held at the Masonic Hall, White Hart Fold, Todmorden. Emma Piszkalo said the organisation thanked the Masons who donated the room free of charge and opened the lodge for guided tours.

“Thank you to Morrisons for delicious scones, Sandra Peach for her many homemade cakes, Bill on the market for his sumptuous strawberries and Crumbly Cheese for the cream. Thank you as well to everybody who donated raffle prizes, including Christine’s Wool and Scarf Shop, Bracewell’s butchers, Secret Garden, Stansfield’s butchers, B’dz, Cheers, Marshalls Menswear, Enchanted Wood, Wetherspoons and Jayne Brearley and Co,” said Emma.

“A special thanks to Dee and Belle for setting up their beautiful stalls and to Olive Birch, Kate Moreton-Deakin, Val Hall and Sharon Kelly who volunteered on the day and made the event such a success. Finally, thank you to everybody who donated their time and effort to bake goods and donate prizes.”
