Burst water pipe causes disruption
HOME owners and motorists were affected when a water main burst in Hebden Bridge.
Yorkshire Water issued an apology after some homes were left without water for several hours and drivers faced lengthy delays through the town centre on Sunday and Monday.
A spokesman said: “We’d like to apologise to local residents and road users for any disruption they have suffered as a result of a burst on one of our water pipes. We were alerted to the burst on Saturday evening and worked quickly to restore disrupted water supplies and repair the pipe.
“Unfortunately the burst had caused some quite substantial damage to the road so it was necessary to back-fill the hole and allow the new road surface time to set properly.
“This work has now been completed and we’d like to thank all concerned for their patience and support while these emergency repairs were taking place.”
