Blowing their trumpet

Hebden Bridge Junior Band

Hebden Bridge Junior Band

HEBDEN Bridge Junior Band members are hoping for a bumper turnout at their annual fund-raising autumn fair and brass cafe on Saturday at the bandroom in Holme Street, Hebden Bridge (11am to 2pm).

Home-made cakes and soups will be on offer as well as a chance to hear both the A band and B (or learner) band in action.

The band, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, is always on the lookout for new members and can provide low-cost lessons and instrument hire. The musicians recently thrilled a packed Trades Club audience when they played with Africa Express and are now gearing up for a busy festive season.

They have been invited to play at Manchester and Leeds Christmas markets and will be carolling in Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge, also leading carols in the Square, Hebden Bridge, on Christmas Eve.
