THERE was an emotional moment at this year’s Hebden Royd Mayor making ceremony when two former civic leaders were honoured.

In one of his last acts as Hebden Royd Mayor, Coun Scott Trickett presented a badge and certificate of appreciation to Harry Ward, who is the husband of the late Betty Ward, and Coun Susan Press.

Harry said: “It’s good that all the previous Mayors have been recognised for what they did in their year. I’m proud of all the work Betty did during her year in office”
