Following a sell-out performance last Summer, the Mytholmroyd Marmaladies WI are delighted to welcome back LipService Theatre Company with their Hysterical Historical Show on Tuesday, June 17, at St Michaels Church Hall, Mytholmroyd.
Part sketch show, part pub quiz, this show has all the ingredients of a fun night out.
In a return to their stand up roots, the duo will take us a whacky whirlwind tour of Britain’s female national treasures.
Meet notorious gossip Mrs Gaskell and her timid friend Charlotte Bronte, learn about Marie Stopes and her little known friendship with Scott of the Antarctic, stage a protest with the ever radical Pankhursts, meet Georgian housekeeper and inventor of cuppa soup Elizabeth Raffald, Annie Horniman, creator of the modern repertory theatre and many more.
A spokeswoman said: “Nothing is sacred, but Marmaladies hope you have been paying attention because there will be a quiz, not a very serious one, with points...and points mean prizes!”
Call the ticket hotline on 07904 880285 to reserve tickets - £8 to WI members (any institute) or £10 to non-members - all welcome.
The night is the latest event organised by the Marmaladies, who meet regularly at The Fellowship Hall, Mytholmroyd Methodist Church, Scout Road on the second Tuesday of the month, as well as arranging other events.
