To celebrate World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, April 2, Hebden Bridge Picture House is hosting an Autism Friendly Screening of Kung Fu Panda 3 (PG) at 1.30pm (tickets from just £5).
Experience reduced sound levels, increased lighting and advert-free content to help your family to be comfortable and feel fully included in the unique experience of a trip to the cinema.
Lisa Murdoch, marketing officer at Hebden Bridge Picture House, said: “We’re really looking forward to our AFS and hope lots of local residents can come and join us. Watching a film on the big screen remains a wonderful experience and one that should be accessible to everyone.”
Claire Lockwood, who along with her husband and daughter Jodie has been going to Autism Friendly Screenings for the last two years, said: “Jodie jumps up and down in her seat and laughs when she’s excited so it’s great she can do that and we don’t have to discourage her. She really loves it and it’s good to find something she enjoys. Because she’s had good experiences she knows what to expect when we say ‘cinema’.”
