The upper Calder Valley has got its first edible mill thanks to the hard work and generosity of an artist and her daughter.

Kate Clarke and daughter Jess Hollings made a ginger bread model of Innovation Mill and presented it to owner David Fletcher last week.

Complete with decorations, the light-up scale-model gingerbread factory is now on display in Innovation Cafe, St George’s Square, Hebden Bridge.

Mr Fletcher said: “I was very overwhelmed by such a wonderful and generous gift. It’s been made as a Christmas present to Innovation. We’re saving it until Christmas Eve for people to look at, but I don’t think it will last much longer!”

Nigel Lloyd, who works at the cafe with Jess, said: “It’s a terrific piece of edible art.”
