Parishioners turned out in force for the traditional Good Friday Walk of Witness through Todmorden, organised by Churches Together.

Members of the congregation at several of the town’s churches followed the large wooden cross as it was carried from St Joseph’s Church to the Peace Garden next to Todmorden Town Hall, where a service of hymns and prayers was held, accompanied by Todmorden Community Brass Band.

In Hebden Bridge, the route of the traditional Good Friday Stations of the Cross service to the hill top at Horsehold had to be amended due to the snow.

The event, organised by Churches Together in Hebden Royd, was enacted around the town centre instead.

The activities, which all focused on the Easter story, included exploring a giant labyrinth.

At Longfield Equestrian Centre, Todmorden, horses and riders donned the costumes of their favourite literary characters for a fairytale themed fancy dress day.
