Children from each class at Colden Junior and Infants School entertained audiences with their Christmas Concert.

The youngest children in Class 4 performed a show entitled, ‘Christmas Time in the Land of Rhyme’ based on traditional nursery rhymes complete with Little Miss Muffet, spiders and Humpty Dumpty.

In Class 3’s show, the children’s rehearsals for their nativity play were interrupted by an alien spaceship which had crash-landed into the school! The unexpected visitors didn’t understand what Christmas was about, so the children helped them understand by letting them watch their show.

Class 2’s play was set in Austria where the story of how the famous carol ‘Silent Night’ was written was shared. Children performed traditional dances and Arthur Davies performed a solo of the carol.

Class 1’s show was about the Christmas Day Truce which happened 100 years ago during World War 1. The children movingly re-enacted how the troops from both armies came together to play football and sing carols.
