Jamie from Sand In Your Eye said: “The festival will begin with retailers across the town decorating their shops with pumpkin displays and on the 24th October we will begin installing our scenes; one of which will be a pumpkin Kayaking down the river! The festivities will culminate in a glorious Parade of Pumpkins on Sunday 29 October.”

Emma from the town council said: “The main feature of the festival will be a fantastic Pumpkin Trail throughout the town, where artists from Sand In Your Eye will bring pumpkins to life with their unique carvings. The carvings will appear at key locations throughout Hebden Bridge over the course of the festival week so be sure to look out for them.”

On Sunday 29 October there will be a pumpkin carving competition and workshops at the Town Hall from 2pm, and a market and the carving of a giant pumpkin in St Georges’s Square. Organisers ask people to gather at Bridgegate carpark at 5.30pm and then the parade will commence to St George’s Square at 6.30pm showing off their newly carved pumpkins.
