A Hebden Bridge store is asking people to raid their wardrobes and donate their old outdoor clothes to help the community.

Outdoor clothing firm, Rohan, is supporting Gift Your Gear, an independent nationwide initiative that provides outdoor clothing and equipment to UK community organisations, youth groups and charities working with young people in the outdoors.

Anyone who wishes to donate can take any outdoor clothing to their local store where it will be sorted and distributed to approved local charities and community groups.

Gift Your Gear is in need of adult and children’s clothing, regardless of brand, which can be dropped off at the store on St George’s Square before Wednesday, September 30.

Roger Cann, managing director of Rohan said: “Rohan has such a strong community of customers that are truly passionate about the outdoors, so it’s really important for us to be able to inspire that enthusiasm in the next generation. Our recent research showed that 35 per cent of people in Yorkshire would like to inspire others, so donating to Gift Your Gear is an ideal way to pass this inspiration on and give your outdoor kit a new lease of life.”

Sarah Howcroft, founder of Gift Your Gear, added: “The outdoor clothing you donate will make a real difference to the community organisations, youth groups and charities who receive it.”
