Police are hunting heartless thieves who stole a World War One service medal during a burglary in Todmorden.
Along with the medal - with ‘H.Mitchell’ engraved along the edge - the thieves also stole an antique 1750s flintlock pistol and items of jewellery.
Police are keen to stress the pistol does not fire and is not thought to be of any danger to the public.
The medal, which belonged to a family friend, the gun and the jewellery were taken between Thursday, April 16, and Sunday, April 19.
Detective Sergeant Simon Archer, of Calderdale CID, said: “We would urge anyone who has been invited to purchase these items or who has seen them advertised for sale to get in touch.”
Anyone who has information is asked to contact Calderdale CID via 101.
