Teenager arrested after incident in Brighouse park

A 14-year-old was arrested for possessing an offensive weapon after a gang threatened a man in a Brighouse park.

Officers were called to Wellhome Park at around 7.30pm on Saturday following reports of a disturbance where a group of young men were seen.

A man was threatened by the group, but was able to flee with his friends.

Nobody was injured.

The group is believed to have left the park and moved across the Tesco car park and through the town centre of Brighouse.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in relation to the incident at Wellholme Park, or who may have seen the group at any point during the evening is asked to contact police with any information.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and has been released on police bail.
