Dodnaze Community Centre Development worker Josie McCarthy and Secretary Vivienne Boardman with a Safer Communities grant of £908.00 for hosting summer activities at Dodnaze Community Centre, presented to them in Leeds where they gave a short presentation.

The money will enable the association to run various activities throughout the summer break such as activity days, discos, film nights and arts and crafts.

It will also be used to host an end of holiday Fun Day similar to the successful one which they ran last year, where they had Hebden Bridge Brass Band playing, stalls, refreshments, and a hugely successful and fun sports day for the kids.

The centre has been picking up nicely with regular bookings and since the purchase of a projector and disco lights, birthday bookings have taken off. The hire for private parties is £7.50 per hour.

If you are interested in hiring the centre for a one-off event, or to have a regular class, contact Josie on 07714 880680 or email Josieatdodnaze@gmail.com
