Calder High School: Simply a spook-tacular disco!

Our senior students have been supporting Year 11 Sports Leaders in their fundraising activities and this week saw them host a Halloween Disco for students in Key Stage 3.

The evening was a spooktacular success and saw students and staff alike turning up and turning a heel in their Halloween finery. Megan Hampshire, Lauren Broadbent, Eleanor Davey and Ellie Pither spent weeks preparing all the decorations, selling tickets and get all the arrangements in place turning school into a witch’s grotto. They were supported on the night by Alexandra Ogden and Chloe Greenwood and have made good start in their fundraising adventures.

The Sports Leaders are busy working with the senior students and the PE department to raise funds for the development of our sports facilities and in particular to purchase fitness equipment to provide a high spec facility to support their studies and provide a gym for them to use before and after school. They are a real asset to the school and are the first to volunteer be it primary school sports events, marshaling at the English Schools event or donning their witches best and running events for the younger years.
