Proposals to build a new Sainsburys supermarket in Hebden Bridge will not now come before planners until September 16.

Campaigners against the proposals had believed planners would discuss the application this Tuesday and had urged people to attend, but at the 11th hour received information that it would be delayed until the September date.

It is understood the agent for the applicant could not make the earlier date and it is felt it would be difficult to deal with an application as controversial as this one without them being present.
