Calderdale set for a rainy day with the odd bright spell

Calderdale is set for a rainy day today (Wednesday) with occasional bright spells.

There will be lows of 3C and lows of 6C. Wind speeds will reach up to 18 miles per hour.

Traffic is starting to build up on the major roads in Calderdale.

On the A641 Huddersfield Road in Brighouse traffic is busy but moving outbound at the Bethel Street junction.

There is stop-start traffic on the A644 Wakefield Road in Mirfield from Cooper Bridge Roundabout to the M62 junction 25 Roundabout junction.

There is heavy traffic on the A629 Calderdale Way southbound in Elland before the Ainley Top Roundabout.

Traffic on the A629 Cow Green in Halifax is busy but moving in both directions at the Bull Green junction.

Traffic on the A58 Bolton Brow in Sowerby Bridge is busy but moving around the A6026 Wakefield Road traffic lights junction.

On the A58 Wharf Street in Sowerby Bridge traffic is busy but moving in both directions at the A6139 Tuel Lane junction.

Traffic on the A58 Aachen Way in Halifax is busy but moving at the Queen’s Road junction.

There is traffic congestion on the A58 Godley Lane eastbound in Stump Cross before the A6036 Bradford Road junction.

Traffic on Huddersfield Road in Halifax is busy but moving northbound between the A646 Dryclough Lane junction and the Ward’s End junction.

Traffic on the A58 Aachen Way in Halifax is busy but moving at the Queen’s Road junction.

There is very slow traffic and heavier than usual traffic on the M62 eastbound between junction 23, A640 (Huddersfield) and junction 24, A629 (Ainley Top).

Due to road improvement works, King Cross Street, Halifax, is only accessible to traffic travelling toward Halifax town centre. A diversion route is in place.

There are currently no reported problems on the buses or trains.
