IT'S serious partying time with Hebden Bridge's primary left-field psychedelic 60s-garage punk-rock trashcan-glamour super-group the Electric Brains at the town's Trades Club tomorrow night (Friday, May 9).
With support coming from Todmorden/Hebden Bridge amalgam Widgykeff (who boast a new drummer in the ranks), all is set for a top class double bill from two local bands who are pretty well known further afield too.

The Brains' legendary live performances combine garage punk mayhem with an outrageous psychedelic dress sense, and often feature a random assortment of guest musicians, including a theramin player dressed as a member of the Russian orthodox church!

Widgykeff meanwhile have been working on a new set and have live recordings just added to their myspace site. It's a 9.30pm start and tickets are £7.50 and £5 (members).

On Thursday May 15 at 9pm Michael Weston King and Steve Gifford play the club.

Michael Weston King is widely acknowledged as one of Britian's finest singer songwriters. Admired by the likes of Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, and the legendary Townes van Zandt (who recorded one of Michael's songs), he draws his influence from a wide range of styles. In support is Steve Gifford on his Boy on a Beach tour. Tickets are £7.50 and £5 (members).
