A NEW walking group in Mytholmroyd plans to create three new routes in the area.
Mytholmroyd Walkers’ Action formed following the success of Hebden Bridge Walkers are Welcome and aims to encourage more residents to get walking.

Varying in difficulty, the routes will all begin from Mytholmroyd station and be clearly marked with yellow signs.

Group secretary Jill Liddington said: “These range from an easy route up to Wood Top, a moderate walk up above Scout Rock and a more strenuous route up to Churn Milk Joan.

“We aim to widen access for walking for those less familiar with local routes or with using maps.”

Photographs are being collected to illustrate the new routes and talks are taking place with Northern Rail to help publicise walking in the area.

The group will next meet on June 19 at the Shoulder of Mutton, Mytholmroyd at 7.30pm and new members are welcome.

The new routes will be officially launched on September 29 at the Good Shepherd Church, Mytholmroyd..
