POLICE have been raising awareness about the impact of drugs misuse within local communities.
As part of National Drugs Week, Calderdale officers have been telling people about the dangers of illegal substances as well as targeting those involved in the production, supply and use of drugs.

Acting Chief Insp Tony Nicholson, of Calderdale’s Operation Support, said: “No one can underestimate the harm caused by drugs in our communities and we remain firmly committed to making a positive impact, not only in this week but throughout the year. Those involved in drugs-related offences will continue to be disrupted by our activities.”

In the Upper Valley, officers executed drugs warrants at Longfellow Court, Mytholmroyd, and Rishworth Palace, Ryburn, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Officers from the Upper Valley Neighbourhood Pol-icing Team have also been busy holding a drugs prevention/education stand at the Co-op in Hebden Bridge.

Sergeant Chris Norbury, of the Upper Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Officers will continue to act on any information that is passed to us and will deal robustly with any offenders.”
