MOVEMENT classes on offer in the Calder Valley have scooped a national award.
Tatty Bumpkin sessions were named as the Best National Physical Activity Class for Kids at the What's On 4 Little Ones awards, sponsored by Organix.
Clare Whitworth, of Nutclough, Hebden Bridge, holds classes using the Yoga-inspired movement and
music programme in Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Halifax.
She said: "These awards are voted for by parents and reward the activities they enjoy with their children so I am delighted with the win."
The idea is based around Tatty Bumpkin, who lives on Wobble Farm, and her adventures. The storyline engages the children, aged between 18 months and seven years, with each character and situation accompanied by a movement or action.
Tatty Bumpkin, which also has a huge organic children's clothing, toy and accessories range, was founded four years ago by Sam Petter and now has branches across the UK.
It has won numerous awards, accrediation from the Council for Awards in Children's Care and Education and trained more than 200 teachers.
Founder Sam Petter said: "This award is a credit to all our hard working teachers who are putting so much into their classes."
