THE Calder Valley hills prepared one runner for the London Marathon.
Alex Mitchell, 39, of Rowland Lane, Wadsworth, Hebden Bridge, competed in the 26-mile challenge last month.

She completed it in four hours 46 minutes, raising £2,500 for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

She was inspired to raise money for the charity after two relatives suffered from prostate cancer.

She said: "It was difficult but not as difficult as running around the Calder Valley. It was very flat in comparison."
