Festival invitation to entertainers

WANTED jesters, buffoons, harlequins, fools and performers.
Heptonstall Festival organisers are holding a competition for the best act on Satuday July 12, in Weavers Square as part of the annual event.

Performers should be skilled in the art of jestering beyond juggling! i.e. song, comedy, dance, etc. Alth
ough skilled jugglers are welcome. Participants must come in fancy dress of their choice and perform no longer than 10 minutes. The winner will be crowned "The Heptonstall Jester of the Year" and receive a cheque for £200 from Wim Van Der Spek, the owner of Little Valley Brewery, Cragg Vale.

Wim said: "I am delighted to support the Heptonstall Festival with the Jesters Competition it should be a great day for the whole community and I will be promoting our organic local beer on the day."

Contestants can download an entry form on www.Heptonstall.org or phone festival organiser Geoff Scott on 01422 842629 for an entry form. Closing date for entry is Friday June 13.

Other events on the day will include, The Bacup Coconutters, TC & The Swing Cats, Pepperjam, The Fat Rascals. The Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse, children's events, stalls and catering. The festival runs from noon till 6pm.
