DIVERS were searching Widdop Reservoir yesterday afternoon as fears grew for the safety of a teenager.
A 17-year-old boy, believed to be from the London area, had been swimming in the reservoir with friends when the group lost sight of him and called police.
The underwater search unit was called to the reservoir, on remote moorland between Hebden Bridge and Colne, above the Hardcastle Crags valley, at 1.35pm.
As the Hebden Bridge Times went to press last night, divers were still searching for the boy.
Firefighters from Todmorden, Mytholmroyd, Halifax, Cleckheaton and a water rescue crew from Brighouse were also called to the scene.
