CALDER Valley jive enthusiasts and local dance teachers TC and Joycey B have recently finished working on a dance hall scene in the latest Kay Mellor production for BBC TV.
The production of "A Passionate Woman" stars Billie Piper, Theo James, Alun Armstrong and his son Joe, Sue Johnston, Frances Barber, Rachel Leskovac and Jamie Davis.

The initial brief included choreography and instruction in jive with actors and more than 20 dancing extras to create an authentic "Saturday night out" dance scene.

During rehearsals TC and Joycey B were delighted to be asked to take part in the production and dance on set during the period dance hall scenes.

"We had a ball" said TC, "Everyone was so upbeat and supportive – it gave us a real insight into TV production".

TC and JoyceyB run The Hepcats Jive club upstairs at the Hole in the Wall Pub (at 7pm on Tuesday nights) with a new session for beginners just started. For further information contact TC on 07759789853 or e-mail joyce@hepcathop.com.
